As a Technical Trainer for the Personal Lines Department, you will play a central role in the development and performance of our brokers, from their initial onboarding and foundational training all the way through their ongoing professional development. Working closely with various stakeholders across the organization, you will actively contribute to the evolution of the training department by optimizing existing resources and developing new, concrete tools tailored to the constantly evolving realities of the insurance industry.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead and actively contribute to the initial and ongoing training of Personal Lines brokers, particularly regarding procedures related to new business, policy changes, renewals, and cancellations.
- Deliver training on computer and telephony tools required for the role, both for new team members in Personal Lines and for administrative teams, especially during system implementations or operational changes.
- Provide mentorship support to consolidate learning and ensure an effective transition to real‑world application.
- Identify and analyze technical training needs within Personal Lines, then recommend and develop training programs adapted to those needs.
- Design, develop, and maintain up‑to‑date training documentation and content (guides, procedures, exercises, PowerPoint presentations, cheat sheets, etc.) to support internal technical training and continuing education, while ensuring consistency and standardization of practices.
- Continuously review and optimize internal training programs, adjusting them for each cohort to support continuous improvement and adaptation to evolving operational realities.
- Develop and update communication templates and content that support brokers in their interactions and interventions with clients.
- Act as a resource person and field trainer, supporting brokers throughout their initial training period.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of products, practices, and market trends in Personal Lines insurance to support brokers in assessing client needs and positioning risks.
- Align technical training content and initiatives with the company’s annual priorities and objectives to maximize team success.
- Participate in evaluating employees’ knowledge before, during, and after training to adjust interventions and support their progression.
- Ensure the pedagogical quality of technical training and the variety of teaching approaches, adapting them to different learner profiles.
- Structure, coordinate, and monitor continuing education (CE) activities for Personal Lines, including identifying relevant training opportunities.
- Deliver in‑person training across various branches, requiring regular travel based on organizational needs.
- Maintain and manage a business volume by ensuring efficient file handling, quality customer service, and rigorous follow‑up, particularly regarding renewals.
Your Skills & Potential
- Hold a university degree.
- Have a minimum of two years of experience as a broker.
- Have more than two years of experience as a trainer in the property and casualty insurance field.
- Hold an AMF Damage Insurance Representative certification.
- Possess skills in pedagogy and/or andragogy.
- Hold or be interested in obtaining trainer accreditation from the ChAD.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, rigor, and attention to detail.
- Show openness to change, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a constantly evolving environment.
- Have strong computer skills (MS Office, Windows environment, etc.).
- Be bilingual (spoken, written, and comprehension) to ensure an inclusive experience for English‑speaking employees and contribute to the development of English‑language training materials.
