Commercial-Lines Director
The objective of this role is to manage a team of Commercial P&C Insurance Brokers and drive business development in the Québec region, while developing and maintaining a strong book of business under management.
Your responsibilities
- Hold regular follow‑up meetings with each broker to support them in their daily activities and in achieving their objectives (business development, renewals, complex cases, marketing, etc.).
- Develop the team’s technical skills (sales, negotiation, product knowledge, wording, etc.).
- Accompany brokers in certain new‑business meetings.
- Participate in the recruitment of Business Services brokers for this region.
- Work closely with the Training Department to identify training needs.
- Support brokers in handling complaints.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Business Services on business development with various partners and suppliers.
- Attend networking activities with the broker team to develop new business and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Your skills and potential
- Hold a university degree in business administration or a related field.
- Hold, or be interested in obtaining, the Damage Insurance Representative certification from the Autorité des marchés financiers.
- Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related role or as a Commercial P&C Insurance Broker.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong priority management and organizational abilities.
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
- Advanced proficiency in French and English, spoken and written, as you will be managing bilingual brokers who interact daily with English‑speaking clients.
